The Clwstwr team hosted a briefing session in Brussels to share and connect with media industry professionals, academics, policy makers and strategic agencies from across Europe.
The Clwstwr Programme: Where Ideas Thrive took place in Wales House and featured a presentation from Director, Professor Justin Lewis and Chief Operating Officer, Sara Pepper.
It was attended by representatives from the Basque region, Catalonia, Leuven, the British Embassy and the British Council.
The team also held one-to-one meetings with Vienna Business Agency, DataScouts, ScreenBrussels, Creative Ring, European Commission, Screen Flanders, Flanders Audiovisual Fund, Flanders DC and MediaArte.
Professor Justin Lewis said: “It was really instructive to meet people from across Europe working on innovation in the media and creative industries. For a young initiative like Clwstwr, these exchanges are really valuable. They allow us to learn from others as well as creating the possibilities for international collaborations. We look forward to developing these relationships in the months and years ahead.”
The team also met academics from imec-SMIT-VUB (Studies on Media, Innovation and Technology) who are colleagues of Clwstwr Impact Analyst, Marlen Komorowski.
It is Clwstwr’s ambition to continue making connections with media clusters across Europe in order to encourage collaborations and knowledge sharing from Cardiff.
