Cipolygon Clwstwr is a series of online sharing sessions where Clwstwr cohort members will share insights and lessons that they have gathered from their screen R&D projects so far.

To date, we have heard from projects exploring AI in the Newsroom and News storytelling through modular journalism

On Tuesday, 16 February 2021 at 3pm we will welcome Hana Lewis to talk about Film Hub Wales’ Clwstwr project, Made in Wales. She will be in conversation with Clwstwr Producer, Sally Griffith.

Film Hub Wales’ ambition is for Welsh film to stand alongside quality independent and foreign language titles worldwide. They have been investigating how a recognisable Welsh Film brand may help to celebrate welsh talent and encourage audiences and industry across the world to engage with our nation’s screen content.

Working with the Welsh/UK screen sector and interviewing other nations such as Sweden, Canada and Ireland about their approach, their research identified the opportunities and barriers of developing a brand for Welsh screen content.

You can read the Made in Wales research here. You can also find out more about how their Clwstwr project developed here

In this event, we will discuss:

1.    What we mean by ‘Welsh Film’

2.    The benefits of a strong screen sector in Wales

3.    The challenges of promoting ‘Welsh Film’

4.    What we can learn from how other nations celebrate their national content
