We are developing partnerships internationally which facilitate connections and collaborations and which encourage cooperation between businesses and universities and enable us to share the results of Clwstwr’s work at global conferences and events. 

Our work supports the values of the Welsh Government International Strategy for Wales and the Well Being of Future Generations Wales (2015) Act.

Our aims are:

  • To raise the international profile of the South Wales media cluster.
  • To support the research and development (R&D) activity taking place in partnership with international collaborators.
  • To establish and inspire new partnerships.

Media City Bergen

The Norwegian Media Cluster is a world leader in augmented reality, graphics, AI, virtual studios, broadcast & IP based video, robotics and tools for workflow and visual storytelling.

The Media Cluster HQ is located in Media City Bergen, a leading international hub for media and technology innovation, with the Media Lab and a startup lab forming the core of the innovation and research projects for the cluster and cluster partners.

The cluster in total counts more than 100 companies, with eight major universities and research facilities among its members. The University of Bergen is a founding partner of the Media Cluster. Dept. of Information Science and Media Studies is co-located in MCB together with leading media and media technology companies.

MFG, Baden Württemberg

MFG Baden-Württemberg is an institution of the state of Baden-Württemberg and Südwestrundfunk broadcasting corporation. They promote film culture and the film industry and support cultural and creative industries in the South West of Germany.

MFG is a public cultural and economic promoter and offers support measure tailored to the creative industries. MFG Kreativ division focuses on networking activities for the cultural and creative industries as well as in the field of digital culture.

The partnership comes in the Year of Wales in Germany - a year showcasing the breadth of activity and exchange happening in Germany and in Wales across commerce, science and innovation, culture and the arts, education, alumni, tourism, civic links and sustainable development. 

Dr. Angela Frank, Head of the cultural and creative industries at MFG Baden-Württemberg, said:
